Given the choice between easy and hard, most of us would opt for easy. New research reveals that we may be hardwired to take the path of least resistance when faced with an option of choices.

Jesus is again in his hometown. Some men bring their paralyzed friend to Jesus trusting that he might help. Jesus seeing their faith, tells the paralyzed man, “Take heart, your sins are forgiven.” Pharisees who were standing nearby didn’t like what they were hearing. Who has the power to forgive sins? According to the Pharisees, certainly not Jesus.

Here comes Jesus with the big question.
Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?

What possibly could be harder than helping a paralyzed man to walk?
Apparently what Jesus does is even harder. He tells the man he is forgiven.

Given the choice between doing the hard thing or the easy thing, Jesus does the hard thing.

Every new day brings with it two options:
1 Take the easy way, the path of least resistance. Choose the most convenient path, the least uncomfortable choice.
2 Or do the hard thing, the right thing, the best thing.

Every new day there are two buttons. One is labeled easy the other hard.
Two doors you can go through. One is convenient the other difficult.

It’s your choice of course. You get to choose.
But if you’re looking for Jesus, pay attention to the story.
He just told you where you can find him.
