In our youth obsessed, beauty driven, never grow old culture, it’s a hard reality to accept. We all age. Our bodies change, our hair turns gray, our physical strength diminishes, and the constant aches and pains remind us that time is not always on our side. To date, no one has yet invented a way to stop the inevitable progression of age and time.
But the Bible has a different perspective on aging. Proverbs 16:31, “Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.” Psalm 90:12, “So, teach us to number our days that we may gain a wise heart.”
We want to live a long time. God wants us to live a good life. We want to look good. God wants us to be good. There’s a big difference between living long and living well.
If you decide not to download the App and see what you’re going to look like years from now, I don’t blame you. We don’t discover who we are by looking at an App or looking in the mirror. We discover who we are by looking to God.
