If you like challenging puzzles here’s one you might want to try. Warning: It’s very difficult to piece together.

Here’s the description on the company’s website:

The Clearly Impossible Puzzle is uniquely designed to be one of the hardest puzzles you will ever complete (if you can). We have multiple piece variations that is suitable for any type of puzzler. The larger the puzzle the more complicated it is.

Numerous false edge and corner pieces is an additional twist! Every piece is completely different, no piece is the same.

You think that’s hard? The hardest puzzle of all might be the church. Try piecing together a large, diverse group of people to form one cohesive picture.

Paul tried to do just that.

“…to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, we are to grow up in every way into Him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”

Paul knew all the pieces had to come together with the same Spirit, the same mind of Christ, to become the church we were called and created to be.

We’re still trying to do that.

Honestly, we haven’t always figured out how to do that well; how to create that kind of unity. In fact, we’ve seen too many instances of conflict and division.

But here’s what we also know.

That moment, when the church becomes the church,

When all the pieces come together,

When the Spirit moves,

When the people of God show up, grow up, and step up,

When a random group pulls together and becomes the Body of Christ:

That’s about as close to the Kingdom of God as we’ll ever get in this world.

For all its flaws and imperfections, when the church works the way Jesus intended, take a moment, and look down at your feet.

You’re standing on Holy ground.
