The Letter We Nee to Write PART 2 “A Letter to Those Who Are No Longer With Us” (Traditional Service)

It might be the hardest letter we will ever write. It may also be the most important.
What do we say to those we love who are no longer with us?
Think about the one you miss dearly. Your father, mother, husband, wife, son, daughter, brother, sister, or a friend. The ones who loved you, protected, guided, nurtured, and healed you. The ones who brought so much joy and laughter.
What do you want to tell them? Where would you find the words to say what you want them to know?
If you decide to write a letter to someone you love who is no longer with us; I can promise you two things:
- It will bring a measure of healing and peace that may surprise you.
- You will be more grateful for having them in your life than the grief you feel in losing them.
Where would you even begin? How would you start? My advice? Take a cue from Paul. Say a deep prayer, pour your heart out and let the Spirit work in you.
And begin with these word, “I thank my God every time I remember you…” Trust me, the rest will come.
