Imagine Part 9 “I Wish I Knew What I Know Now” THRIVE Service Livestream

Imagine if people really changed.
If you want to be successful and powerful in life:
Never admit you’re wrong.
Never apologize.
Never say “I’m sorry.”
Act as if you’re better than others.
Blame everyone else for your problems.
Never show any sign of weakness.
If you’ve ever met someone who is arrogant, selfish, self-centered, a self-proclaimed expert on every subject, unapologetic, and never wrong about anything, you can relate.
Some things never seem to change. The world is divided and polarized. People are separated into haves and have nots, rich and poor, old and young, educated and uneducated, democrats and republicans. Lines have been drawn.
If that sounds familiar, it is.
Paul writes to a Corinthian church thousands of years ago that is deeply divided, polarized and constantly in conflict. It breaks his heart.
Fast forward thousands of years, and in many cases, we’re still stuck in the same mess.
Honestly, does anyone ever change?
Will anything ever change?
Paul will be the first to tell you, “Yes, people can really change.” And not just the on the surface cosmetic stuff like losing a few pounds or dropping a bad habit. No, Paul is talking about a deep, never going back again, permanent fundamental change.
He writes, “We regard no one from a human point of view…if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation.”
Change is hard. But God is in the change business. And the good news is there is no mind He can’t transform, no heart He can’t touch, no sin He won’t forgive, no life He can’t change.
The way to change the world is to let God change you.
When that happens, Paul will tell you, you’ll never look at other people or yourself the same way again.
