Imagine Part 11 “Imagine: There’s No Place Where God Will Not Go” THRIVE Service Livestream

Don’t go there…
It’s a warning to another person not to bring up a sensitive topic.
Don’t bring it up.
Don’t talk about it
Don’t even think about it.
Don’t go there…
There are some subjects we intentionally avoid.
Politics
Religion
Race
Controversies
There are some places we naturally avoid.
Dark Alleys
Crime ridden areas
Dangerous intersections
Shark infested waters
There are some people we knowingly avoid.
People we disagree with
People who are different from us
People who make us uncomfortable
Everyone around Jesus had to be thinking the same thing. Stay away from Jerusalem. Don’t go there…
Jerusalem is a bad idea. Too dangerous. Too much hatred and violence. Too many people who want to hurt you. Too big of a risk.
Even Jesus knew what he was getting into when he decided to orchestrate an unforgettable parade and enter straight into the heart of Jerusalem.
He knew what was waiting for him on the other side of the walls. “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it!”
Yet, He knowingly walks straight into all the hatred, all the violence.
Despite all the plausible and justified reasons not to go,
He went there…
Because that’s what He does and that’s who He is.
And if he’s willing to risk everything and go straight into the most dangerous place in the world, it means there is no place He won’t go to find you, nothing He won’t do to save you and bring you home.
He went there…
Thank God He did. Thank God He still does.
