Hidden Tracks Part 5 “Midlife Crisis” THRIVE Service Livestream

Life is hard in the middle.
You already know that if you’ve ever been in the middle. The middle of an argument, the middle of chaos, the middle of family disputes, or just trying to stay in the middle of politics or religion. The middle is a precarious place. It’s the messy middle, somewhere in between where we used to be and where we’re going. The middle class, the middle child, mid-career, or having a midlife crisis.
A midlife crisis is defined as a period of emotional turmoil in middle age, around 40 to 60 years old, characterized by a strong desire for change. It’s a life transition when a person begins to question the things they’ve accomplished and whether they still hold meaning and fulfillment.
A midlife crisis is a time of restlessness. It is filled with both dangerous risks and wonderful opportunities.
Moses is at a crossroads, a crisis of faith. He has escaped Egypt and slavery and yet he feels like a foreigner in his homeland. He has a choice. Either settle down to a life of predictable comfort or go back to Egypt as God has called him to free his people.
If you think a midlife crisis can only happen in middle aged people, you’d be wrong. It can happen at any stage of life, anytime you’re in the midst of major changes or disruptions.
It doesn’t matter when it comes.
It matters what we do with it.
