The Letter We Nee to Write PART 3 “A Letter…To Our Children” (Traditional)

Whoever came up with the phrase, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”, didn’t have a clue. Words matter. We all know it. We’ve all experienced it. We’ve been on the receiving end of words that felt like a dagger to our heart, and we’ve also been blessed by words of encouragement from people who believed in us and loved us. We can use words to build up or tear down; to eviscerate or edify, to hurt or heal, to bless or curse. The point is we have a choice. Children who are blessed grow up to bless others. Children who grow up feeling unblessed and unloved, carry their emptiness and pain with them throughout their lives and do untold harm to others and themselves.
