Youth Sunday
The phrase, “Mama, there goes that man!” comes from NBA announcer Mark Jackson. Jackson often used that expression to describe a player who executed an extraordinary shot or play during an NBA basketball game. Beyond just basketball, there are many great players/athletes in sports today. We have Patrick Mahomes for the Kansas City Chiefs, Corey Seager for the Texas Rangers, and Simone Biles for gymnastics. All are examples of excellent athletes, leading their teams, about whom we can say, “Mama, there goes that man/woman!”
Now focusing on our own lives, whose lead are we following? As followers of Christ, we have the living Son of God, Jesus, on our team. But are we keeping Him on the sidelines as the mascot or are we putting Jesus in the game and allowing Him to lead us to victory? Do we simply say we are followers of Jesus, but then continue to do our thing instead of what the Bible says? Or do we point back to Jesus and give Him the ball, because we know He can make a huge impact when He touches the ball?
We would love for you to join us on Sunday as our youth lead worship and share testimonies from throughout the year of what Jesus has been doing in their lives.
