The Letter We Nee to Write PART 6 “A Letter…To Ourselves” (THRIVE)

Painfully true for a lot of us. Looking back over the course of our lives, most of us can point to several bad choices, poor decisions, unfortunate circumstances and unwelcomed changes. We discover along the way that there aren’t any shortcuts or easy paths. Growing up is hard and unfortunately most of us had to learn that lesson the hard way.

Paul looks back over the course of his life and is confronted with a realization that early on in his life he got so many things wrong. He was wrong about the early Christian movement believing it was a heretical threat to everything he held sacred. He was wrong about Jesus. He was wrong about God. It took a blinding light on the road to Damascus to begin opening his eyes. He grew up. He matured. He found Jesus, or to be more accurate, Jesus found him.

At some point in our lives, we hear a voice telling us, “It’s time to grow up”. Wisdom is a hard earned and painful gift. But it’s a gift we need and the only way any of us ever grow up.

At this stage of your life If you’re truly wise, chances are you have the scars to show for it.

So, knowing what we know now, what would you say to your younger self? What do you wish someone would have told you when you were trying to figure it out?

Trust me, there’s a kid who needs to hear what you have to say.

And if you haven’t figured it out yet, that kid is still very much inside of you.
