What’s the most powerful four-letter word?

There are lots of candidates:
Hope
Hate
Fail
Fear
Give
Life
Rise
Rest
Stay
Amen
LOVE.
According to Jesus, that’s the most important four-letter word and the most powerful force in the world.

The question is, “What is love?”
According to the Bible, there are seven different kinds of love.
Eros- Romantic or Physical Love
Philia – Love of Friends
Xenia – Love in the form of hospitality to strangers or guests.
Philautia – Self-Love
Pragma – Enduring Love
Storge – Family Love
Agape – Unconditional Love
Which means there are many ways to love and countless people to love in the course of life.

But number 7 on the list is different.

Agape is the highest form of love – a selfless, sacrificial, and unconditional love that God has for us and expects us to have for one another. It is a love borne from God that goes beyond human comprehension and surpasses all other types of love.

That kind of love never dies, never gives up, and never abandons.

It can overcome hatred, heal a broken heart, and restore a shattered life.

It can stand in the face of oppression and hang on a cross in an act of sacrificial love and unimaginable compassion.

Jesus commands us to love one another, then goes on to show us what that kind of love looks like in everything He says and does.

That kind of love is nearly impossible for us.

That’s why it starts with Him, not us.

We love because He first loved us.

The most powerful four-letter word in the world.

Imagine if we could love like Jesus.

Imagine if we knew how much we are loved.
