Traditional Worship

Trinity’s Ministry of Music and Fine Arts is a community of faith organized to aid in the proclamation of the Gospel using a variety of musical and artistic experiences to help the church accomplish its mission. It should be viewed not as a program area with music and others arts as its ultimate goal, but rather as a ministry through music and other arts to those participating actively in it, to the congregation as a whole, and to the greater community and world to which we are called to be ministers. The Music Ministry is organized and graded by age levels and degrees of musical experience and expertise in order to most effectively meet the needs of the membership, to learn about music and Biblical truths, and to share their Christian witness using their talents.

Trinity Handbell Choirs

Looking for a new activity to serve Trinity? Please consider joining a  handbell choir. Ringing handbells adds a unique and glorious musical element in the worship service. It is a fun way to work together and share fellowship. Training is included in the rehearsals.

Adult Music Program

Neither previous choral experience or auditions are required for volunteer participation in these choirs and ensembles, although it is important to maintain an appropriate balance between voice parts in the smaller ensembles. Individuals who are not able to make a regular weekly commitment to singing in one of these organized choirs are encouraged to participate in seasonal music-making during Advent/Christmas, Lent/Easter, and the summer. Inquiries should be made to the Minister of Music.

Chancel Choir

Wednesday, 7:00-8:30 P.M., Choir Room

Kendall Carter, Director; Sunny Yu, Accompanist

This choir provides musical leadership for the 11:00 A.M. Sunday worship service, performing anthems in a variety of musical styles. Special seasonal musical offerings are presented at least twice a year.

Childcare during rehearsal is provided on an as-needed basis.

Chamber Singers

Wednesday, 8:45-9:15 P.M; Choir Room

This ensemble is a sub-group of the Chancel Choir, which performs anthems of various musical genres, often more demanding and with limited preparation/rehearsal time. This ensemble sings periodically in various worship services.

Sacred Pops

Sunday, 9:00-9:45 A.M., Choir Room

Originally organized to sing primarily secular music for events other than worship services, this group has come to sing more sacred repertoire, but still in a more upbeat, “Pop” style. This group is available, on occasion, to sing for various groups and gatherings, both within the congregational life and beyond. This ensemble sings in morning worship at least once a month. Membership is open to Chancel Choir members, as well as others who cannot make a commitment to singing in morning worship on a weekly basis.

Women's Ensemble

Monday, 10:30-11:30 A.M., Choir Room

Membership in this ensemble is not restricted to Chancel Choir members, though commitment to the weekly Monday morning rehearsals is essential. The group sings in Sunday morning worship at least once a month, as well as for special seasonal presentations.

Bells of Celebration (adults and older students)

Wednesday, 6:00-7:00 P.M., Handbell Room

This Handbell Choir for adult and older student ringers with previous Handbell experience and/or music-reading skills performs on the church’s 4-octave set of Schulmerich Handbells. Requiring from 10-13 ringers, this choir performs regularly in Sunday morning worship services as well as participating in seasonal performances and area Handbell festivals. Substitutes and short-term commitments are welcomed from time to time. The Handbell Choir is welcoming more ringers.

Music & Fine Arts Committee

This subcommittee of the Council On Ministries assists the Minister of Music as an advisory and advocacy group. They assist creatively in planning and evaluating programming and budget, while representing needs of various constituencies within the music ministry.

If you would like more information about any of the adult choirs, or any part of our Music & Fine Arts Ministries, please contact 817.274.1345.

Instrumental Ensemble (Adults and Youth)

With the ever-increasing number of capable string and wind players in our congregation, we are looking to develop this new ensemble, including both youth and adults. Music reading and adequate ensemble-playing skills are important as we organize this group.
